NOT ONLY 19: A mathematic comparison of Genesis 1:1 and Surah al Fatiha

The main purpose for undertaking this research is not to prove the existence of mathematical miracles in scripture, be it Biblical, Quranic or otherwise, that would convince skeptics of the divine nature of these  works. Enough research has been carried out by researchers of both Judeo-Christian and Islamic persuasions, both with their biases that accompany their faiths, with the aim of proving the divine authorship of their cherished holy books, by means of demonstrating that there exist many mathematical anomalies and symmetries within the texts to be simply written by human hands without the guidance of an infinitely wise and knowledgeable Creator.  

The main purpose for undertaking this research then is to unlock the hidden structures common to these texts, and to discover the hidden structures for the enlightenment of those who will seek, for it is the belief of this researcher that such knowledge can and will provide not only gifts of a theological nature, but that such knowledge could contribute to the sciences for the betterment of humankind.

The research previously mentioned, and which will be the primary focus from the start, is that of the "hidden codes" based on mathematics present in both the Bible and the Quran, to the best of my knowledge these have not been compared. The Biblical research has been the focus of mainly Christians and centers around numerical patterns and geometric shapes that arise from these numbers, including the use of gematria (number values corresponding with letters of the Hebrew alphabet). The research carried out on the Quran has been focused primarily around the number 19 and its multiples, based on the work of Rashad Khalifa. What the Quranic researchers have failed to see however is that the number 19 is only part of the puzzle, as I will later demonstrate.

GENESIS 1:1

                                             בְּרֵאשִׁית בָּרָא אֱלֹהִים אֵת הַשָּׁמַיִם וְאֵת הָאָרֶץ

Bereshit bara Elohim et hashamayim ve'et ha'aretz.

"In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth."

Known to Christian researchers of alphanumerics as the Protoverse, Genesis 1:1 lays the foundation for the codes in the Bible. It consist of seven words, of 28 letters (in Hebrew) having a gematrical value of
2701, which is the factor of 37x73, which are two consecutive star numbers.

STAR NUMBERS

From Wikipedia:

"star number is a centered figurative number a centered hexagram (six-pointed star), such as the Star of David, or the board Chinese checkers is played on."

SURAH AL-FATIHA

The first chapter of the Quran  is considered by Muslims to be "The Opener" or a key containing within it the essence of the entire Quran. There is some disagreement between scholars as to whether the Basmala ("Bismillah Ar Rahman Ar Rahim", or "In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful") should be included, as it precedes almost every chapter and in those cases is not a numbered verse.

Arabic, like Hebrew, is alphanumeric and the gematric values can be calculated based on the Abjad numeral values. The Basmala consists of four words, nineteen letters and having an abjad numeral value of 786, which when the digits are added has a value of 21 (7+8+6=21 or 3x7) which further can be reduced to 3 (2+1). 21 is a triangular number, meaning 21 dots can be arranged in a perfect triangle.

Sura al Fatiha, excluding the Basmala, consists of 120 letters (1+2+0=3) and 25 words (2+5=7).
It has an abjad numeral value of 9361. This is interesting because it is also a star number, and it is the factor of two other star numbers 37x253. These are the 3rd and 7th star numbers respectively.

Researchers of Biblical gematria often point out the reoccurring 3's and 7's as the basis of all other "bible codes" as in the 37x73=2701 gematric value of Genesis 1:1 (the 3rd and 4th star numbers, 3+4=7).In the case of Surah al Fatiha we have 37x253 (the 3rd and 7th star numbers).

Research of Quranic numerical patterns often revolves around the number 19 and the occurence of certain words in multiples of 19 throughout the entirety of the Quran. The Basmala consists of 19 letters through four words of 3, 4, 6 and 6 letters respectively. BSM ALLH (3+4=7 letters) ALRHMN ALRHYM (6+6=12 letters, 1+2=3).  

I would also like to point out that the abjad value of 9361 (Surah al Fatiha excluding the Basmala) adds up to 19 (9+3+6+1=19).

19 is the number at the centre of 37 (19+18=37) and a hexagram star of 37 has within it a centred hexagon of 19.

Another interesting relationship between 19 and 37 is the fact that every 19th number on the Fibonacci sequence is a multiple of 37.

1 1 2 3 5 8 13 21 34 55 89 144 233 377 610 987 1597 2584 4181 (19th: 4181/37=113. There are 113 chapters of the Quran AFTER al-Fatiha, which is considered to contain the essence of the whole book, or a "mirror" of the book. 


So if the Abjad numeral value of Surah al Fatiha is the product of 37 and 253, or the 3rd and 7th star numbers respectively, it would be also interesting to note that a 253 star contains within it a centered hexagon of 127 (or 12 and 7, 1+2=3 and 7, 3+7=10, 1+0=1). All these numbers and shapes, when their digits are added reduce to ONE, pointing to the Unicity of God. Unfortunately some of the Christian researchers assume that because some numbers can be arranged as triangles that it proves the doctrine of trinity (which was never taught by Jesus). This is a ridiculous assumption based on their conditioning as these numbers can also be arranged in hexagonal and hexagram patterns but you don't hear them say that God is six-in-one. Rather, the fact that:


19 or 1+9=10, 1+0=1

37 or 3+7=10, 1+0=1

127 or 1+2+7=10, 1+0=1

253 or 2+5+3=10, 1+0=1

9361 or 9+3+6+1=19, 1+9=10, 1+0=1


and from Gen. 1:1:


37x73=2701, 2+7+0+1=10, 1+0=1

(37 or 3+7=10, 1+0=1; 73 likewise)


all point to the Singleness of the Almighty. Nonetheless I am grateful for the research and work done by our Christian brothers (and sisters) and believe that if they respect the two greatest commandments (Mark 12:29-31) then they are in a state of peaceful submission to the One true God.

In future I hope to expose and discover more of these hidden codes exploring not only gematria and mathematics in scripture but also relating resulting geometries to the laws and codes of creation with the intent of shedding some light on pre-existing scientific knowledge.
